Holiday countdown: Bikini Lust List

While many of you have already jetted off to wonderful exotic places this summer, there will be a few, like me, who still have their summer holiday to look forward to (Hello America!). I’ve been so envious of everybody coming back from trips to sunnier climates (although, we’ve not had it too bad here!), and feeling like my holiday was so far away, but finally, it is my holiday month and I am on official holiday countdown!

The silly thing is, now that it has come around – in what seems a really short space of time – I’m suddenly feeling really unprepared! In order to not get too excited, I’ve held off from buying holiday essentials until it was ‘closer’, but now I have less than two weeks and my holiday wardrobe is, quite frankly, lacking! So this week, I have been scouring the net for a few little outfits and other essentials for trip to the states. One of the things I’m badly in need of  are bikinis!

Now, the last time I bought new bikinis, I was a size smaller, so nearly all of my bikinis are just a little too small, so I have quite a nice excuse to buy a few new lovely sets! So far I’ve found quite a few that I’m tempted to order, so thought I would share them with you!

1. Next Floral Bikini – Top: £20 & High-waisted Bottoms: £14

2. Motel ‘Love Me’ Mesh Detail Swimsuit – £19

3. Topshop Stripe Bikini  – £30

4. River Island Texture Lilac Bikini – Top: £16 & Bottoms: £12

5. ASOS Polkadot Swimsuit – £24

6. Topshop Banana Leaf Print Bikini – £36

There are so many different bikini trends around at the moment, so it was really hard to choose from such a huge selection, but these ones were my favourites. I fell absolutely in love with the Next Floral bikini the minute I saw it in the shop, and will 100% be buying this one ASAP. As someone with more than adequate ‘boob’, it is so nice to find bikinis with a bit more support and proper underwiring that aren’t hideous or ‘mumsy’. Well done Next! The same also goes for the River Island Lilac bikini, which reminded me of the Triangl bikinis that have been everywhere this summer, except this one is a little kinder on the wallet at only £28. I also loved the colour, which is bold, but still flattering on paler skintones, like mine.

Topshop have also got some really nice styles in this year (don’t they most years?!) – in particular, I love the Banana Leaf Print Bikini – tropical prints seem to be really on trend this season, and I love this particular pattern. The stripe print is also from Topshop, and is such a classic that could be worn for years to come, so I’ll always have space for that one in my holiday wardrobe!

I’ super excited to buy some of these – just wish I could buy them all so that I didn’t have to cut the list down even further! Do you have a favourite? What bikini styles have you been lusting after this summer?

I love your picks and have the exact same issues as you, needing a suitable bikini top that isn’t ‘mumsy’! Asos and Debenhams have been my saviours! Ii hope you have an amazing time on holiday xx
