Growing up, my mum loved to take us all to as many lovely areas in the UK as she could, and so, one of my favourite things to do is to rediscover some of the places that I spent time as a child.
And with this in mind, a few weekends ago, I decided to take a little mini-trip down to Dawlish, in Devon – an area that brings back all kinds of childhood memories. It was so lovely to see how this classic little seaside town has stayed almost exactly the same as I remember! It reminded me how much I love the Devon coast – in ways, it is so different from the Weston-super-Mare beach that is just 150 ft from my house. I’ll definitely be taking time this summer to explore even more of this area.
This walkway is what photographic dreams are made of!
Willing myself not to go paddling in the freezing cold sea!
The whole coastline is surrounded by these gorgeous houses – just imagine the views!
Bunting-lined bridges – just off the seafront
Heading up from the waterside is this little trail, leading to the most impressive views (that I didn’t get any pictures off because my phone died! Sob!)
Further into the town is this quaint riverside walk
Finishing off our day with a proper clotted cream ice cream – let’s be honest, it wouldn’t be the seaside without one!
