You might’ve seen my post a few weeks ago on the Latest in Beauty Glamour Beauty Edit – my first foray back into the world of Beauty Boxes after becoming disheartened with them over the past couple of years. This box was a nice little reminder of how fun Beauty Boxes can be, especially when they give you the opportunity to try some amazing new products.
So when I got an email a couple of weeks ago from Latest In Beauty letting me know all about their latest Beauty Box – the Glamour Power List , I immediately rushed to see the contents, and this one had such a good selection, I couldn’t resist placing my order.
What’s in it?
Eyeko Eye Makeup Remover Wipes – my daily skin routine is something I’m pretty happy with at the moment, and so I’m fairly reluctant to change what seems to work really well for me. That said, I did give these wipes a go one evening, after a day of pretty heavy liner and mascara, and was really impressed. The formula itself is quite oily, but as I use oil-based cleansers anyways, this didn’t really phase me. It did the job perfectly, removing every ounce of eye makeup without me needing to scrub, and without irritating my usually sensitive eye area. Definitely worth recommending!
The Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence makes my hair really soft when applied before I dry my hair, and has the added benefit that it smells AMAZING!
I’ve been using the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer since the day I had the box delivered, and really rate it – it keeps my makeup looking flawless all day, and really helps ti make my makeup apply really smoothly.
The box also contains a James Read Sleep Mask Tan – now I haven’t had the chance to try this one out yet, but every James Read product I’ve used before has been faultless, so I have no doubt it will be amazing – stay tuned though, as I’ll eb sure to put a review once I get the chance to use it!
Initially, the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara didn’t actually arrive with my parcel, but I got in touch with Latest in Beauty and they sent to me almost immediately – cannot fault their customer service! The product itself is great for adding loads of volume super quickly – pretty much what it says on the tin! It’s not the usual type of brush I’d use (I’m a big fan of the classic Volume Million Lashes), and while it doesn’t give the same result as more natural fibre brushes, it’s perfect for when you’re in a rush and don’t have ages to spend applying your makeup.
There are five shades available in the Maybelline Stripped Nudes Lipstick collection, and if I’m honest, I’m really not a ‘nudes’ person – I’m much more at home in pinky-red shades, and so I wasn’t too fussed about getting this product in the box. The shade I received was ‘Tantalizing Taupe’ – I was a little relieved that it was one of the darker shades, as the really light shades I knew would look terrible on me. When I tried it on, I was actually quite shocked at how much I liked it. In fact, I kept it on all day and had a couple of people comment on how nice it looked – always lovely to hear! The lipstick itself was really creamy, and stayed put for ages with smudging, and was creamy enough that it didn’t dry out at all. Winner.
The final beauty product in the box was the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, which I’ve not had the chance to use yet, as ym skin has been pretty sensitive recently, and I’m trying not to irritate it too much with lots of products. I’ll definitely be sure to let you know what this product is like when I use it, as I’ve heard great things about this cleanser

At only £15.99 (including postage), I really do think this box is well worth the money, especially given that some of the products alone are worth more than the box!
Overall, I thought the box, while not as great as the last one, really was worth the money – and I’m definitely excited to use some of the skincare products!
