Long hair don’t care: Hairspiration

Over the years I’ve had my hair in as many styles and cuts as you could imagine – from a short, ear-lobe length bob (although I’m not sure this was ever a good move), to as long as the base of my back. This is mainly down to – let’s face it – boredom. I’ll think I want my hair long, but after I get it to a really good length, I’ll see someone with a really amazing shorter style and decide to chop it off. Of course, as soon as I do, I instantly regret it and end up growing it back – luckily my hair grows pretty long, pretty quickly. As much as I love a good chop, super long is always how I like my hair best.

I recently went through a bit of an ‘I’m definitely getting my hair cut NOW’ phase, but have been putting it off, because, actually, I’ve been growing my hair for about 3 years now, and it’s finally at a point where I’m quite happy with it. So instead of just jumping straight to a short cut that I can guarantee I’ll end up regretting within weeks, I thought I would just try to embrace my long hair.

One of my problems is that my hair takes so long to style or do anything with, that half the time I just don’t put it up and out of the way, instead of making an effort and really enjoying all the styles I can do with it. So i thought I could do with some inspiration to get me feeling good about my hair again. And luckily enough, there are so many celebs out there with amazing long hair that I can envy and probably attempt to replicate at some point (badly no doubt)!

Here are a few of my favourite long-haired babes, who I’ve been using as hairspiration recently!

Okay, so this one’s obviously not a current picture, but I’ve always love Brigitte Bardot’s messy-chic styles. They’re so voluminous and look classic without requiring too much work. Definitely more my kind of style!

sienna miller

Sienna Miller’s hair always looks so simple, but glam. A swipe of serum and a quick go over with the straighteners will make me look just like this right? Well, a girl can dream…

cara delevingne hair

Cara’s hair is such an amazing colour, and a great example of easy, good-t-go hair that isn’t over-styled but still looks good. It helps that she’s a super-model of course, but hey…

lauren conrad hair

Although she’s now gone for the chop, Lauren Conrad is the ultimate queen of the long wave. I could spend hours scrolling through pictures of her hair (sad? yes maybe). Her subtle ombre’d colour is always my inspiration when dying my hair.

Who else goes through the ‘to-cut, not-to-cut’ dilemma with their hair? Who are your hair idols?
